D'ellis of CurlsnSkirls who always says such nice things about my paltry efforts has nominated me for a Reader Appreciation Award which is really too kind of her considering that within recent months there has been very little to read here let alone appreciate.
As ever there are rules and one of which is to nominate other blogs you enjoy reading and to answer the following 10 questions.....
1. Favourite colour ....any that makes me look less haggard than usual when wearing it.
2. Favourite animal......any that doesn't currently cause major disruption in my house by either snoring or constantly scratching either itself or the furniture contained within said house.
3. Favourite non-alchoholic drink....didn't know there was such a thing.
4.Facebook or Twitter....neither.
5. Favourite pattern.....in sewing, knitting or crochet terms any that I have just recently finished and has not resulted in me nearly going insane with frustration and running around the house stabbing wildly at any scratching or snoring animal that might get in the way and provoke my anger further. In the wider sense any pattern that good old Dame Nature provides that creates a sense of calm and well being to help overcome the previous scenario.
7. Favourite number......52 my age next birthday unfortunately.
8. Favourite day of the week.....any as I am a self kept house person.
9. Favourite flower.....any flower is beautiful apart from the hated Tulip which I loathe with a passion.
10.What is your passion?........Couldn't possibly say I blush too easily but otherwise see number 9.
Minnado's House
Snippa
Foster Reviews It
brocobelle
Acting My (Vint)Age
Nid De Tissus
Analog Me
Sew Something Vintage
Red Star to Lone Star
....and anyone else off of my blog roll can consider themselves nominated too as I wouldn't want anyone to go without any recognition.
So thank you again to D'ellis for her kind nomination and for sticking with me when there wasn't actually anything to read and I am going to make the effort ( "cross my heart and hope to die,Terrapins may poke me in the eye") this week and catch up on some of the things that I was actually making and doing in February so keep a look out ....!

Thank you again! I still need to pass along the Liebster Blog award that you gave me. I am very slow at the awards apparently!
ReplyDeleteAnd I feel that I have to confess that I love tulips. But I love dahlias too, does that make up for it? ;)
Dahlias fine by me!
DeleteGood to hear from you! Looking forward to your Feb news...have you any signs of spring yet?? Beautiful day here in BC today...but buckets of rain yesterday...
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteSlow start to spring as we have not had a lot of sunshine although thankfully it has been dry for a week or too but something must be hatching somewhere as a discarded egg shell in the garden.
I got very excited to see you pop up on my blog list! It's so nice to have you back!
ReplyDeleteNow I hope that you will explain this tuliphobia. Or did you already address it at length in an earlier post and I missed it?
Thank you very much for nominating my blog. It's always a surprise to know that I have any reader, much less one that is appreciative.
Hope we get to see a bit more of you!
Thank you Katrina!
DeleteTuliphobia must be genetic as my Mum and Aunt also hate Tulips although my sister and daughter like them.
Wonderful to have you back, Rustic! I have missed your pictures and your creations. Sorry to hear about the snoring, scratching beasts...
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteSnoring and scratching not too bad really!!
Thanks so much for your nomination, and apologies in advance as I know I am pants at nominating others for awards - but I promise to try to do it, just let me have a few more days as I am currently stitching away like a demon as I have had some designs for embroidered brooches accepted by the National Centre for Craft & Design & I deliver my first batch of brooches next Monday! When the brooches go to the shop, I will post some photos so you can see what I have been up to. Hope all is well. K. x
ReplyDeleteDon't worry!
DeleteHow exciting about your brooches and looking forward to seeing the photo's.Well done! x
February always seems to fly by, doesn't it? Maybe because January inevitably drags out forever, what with the cold and gloom and no Christmas to look forward to and spring being ages away. But yay March and spring, snowdrops and crocusses and daffodils (and tulips for me, I really like the pink variety).
ReplyDeleteYes my garden is at its best in the Spring as in the summer it is too shady for most flowering plants.Snowdrops still looking good out there but most of my crocuses seem to have disappeared courtesy of the squirrels I think!
DeleteThank you so much. You know I always enjoy reading your blog even if February did fly by. I took a look at the blog, Red Star to Lone Star. Having lived in the Lone Star state I was intrigued. What a great blog you got me hooked on. I wish I could take photos like that!
ReplyDeleteI know so do I and thank you too!
DeleteThank you for the award - I amv ery happy to receive any nice things and praise as you know! Especially as I think my blog is such a mess - but then that is an accurate reflection of life as it is. I too am desperate for spring. xx
ReplyDeleteyou're welcome and being an accurate reflection of life makes your blog such a charming read! xx
DeleteDelightful to have you back writing & photoing your lovely creations, and fun trips to Spain! Thank you for the very nice things you've written, too. (I also blush easily, and am doing so now.) Oh, how I wish I could turn out a jumper as easily as you... sigh!
ReplyDeleteD'ellis, of
www.curlsnskirls.wordpress.com
PD/Have tried & tried to decipher the latest blogosphereic code to sign in & comment on your gorgeous photos, with no success. So hope this will work!
Thank you D'ellis for your kind comments they have really cheered me up today!
ReplyDeleteI could never, believe me,turn out a jumper easily...it is a good job I live alone so cannot vent my frustration on anyone!!!
My apologies for my rudeness at not commenting sooner, thanks so much for nominating me, despite the fact that there's nowt happening over at my blog! I still read and enjoy yours too, so keep up the recent posting. For what it's worth, I think the chunky knit cardi looks great :-) and God is it needed in this abysmal weather...
ReplyDeleteThat's Ok Claire and I hope you are well!
DeleteCome back soon as I miss all of your wonderful dress pictures!!
