This is what it is supposed to look like when finished
My first attempt at "broom-sticking"
Broomstick crochet involves the placing of loops onto a massive broomstick...or 15mm knitting needle( I can't ever remember buying this and I have only one so, if I did buy a pair then the other one must have got lost at some point in a worm hole in the Time Space Continuum...conveniently so for the purposes of broomstick crochet it would seem) and then basically crocheting off of these loops. As I say this is nothing that I had ever had the desire to do so before but I gave it a go...who says that when you get to 52 you can't live life on the edge..go me!!
My first sample attempts were using Aran weight wool and they were pretty good and it seemed fairly straightforward, if not a trifle lengthy in the process, so I went for it with the "real stuff".
tension just about right
awful first attempt at belt.all baggy and saggy...just like me really
A bit wobbly and wonky but....It's a bow...yay!!
This doesn't look quite like the one in the magazine.....
