I have been busy making tunic length tops as I eventually plucked up enough courage to sally forth into the world of legging wearing.I have not made any leggings yet and have to admit to going out and buying a pair...eventually....as finding the right size seemed to take forever.I have to admit that despite any initial reservations I might have had I quite like them but finding the right size was imperative as there is a lot of Rump Droop to factor into the clothing choice equation these days.

This summer two of the dresses (see one here) that I have worn almost constantly in rotation with my Vibrantly Jazzy dresses were made from Simplicity 2896 and I thought it was a pattern that would adapt well to being shortened into a tunic....and it did! I used that nice fine Linen fabric I purchased earlier in the summer from Ditto Fabrics. It has a bright, large and (dare I say it at the risk of being repetitive) "jazzy" leaf pattern. It worked out really well and it is so comfy to wear.

I will definitely make more for next summer.
|the bows were the trickiest thing to get right and I am still not overly happy with them.|
Again the fabric was a fine linen from Ditto...
|look no facings..!|
I finished the seams off with French seams to make it look neater...
This Tunic Trio is possibly my last venture into summer sewing as I have more than enough stuff to keep me going if the hot weather of the other week decides to return.Plus I have started to think about, and I hate to say this, sewing for the autumn.
